After being diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer, filmmaker David Nicholas Wilkinson set out to investigate a disease that is increasingly affecting younger people and to understand why its symptoms are so often overlooked. Featuring patients, doctors and cancer specialists, 1 in 2 challenges common misconceptions, explores the realities of modern cancer treatment and asks whether we really know the signs to look out for. Honest, eye-opening and unexpectedly funny, this is a powerful film that aims to dispel myths, raise awareness and, above all, offer hope. Because knowing the signs could save your life. This screening will be followed by a Q&A with David Nicholas Wilkinson and Dr David Burke, Academic Clinical Lecturer, Queen’s University Belfast. A portion of the box office from this screening will be donated to The Johnston Cancer Research Centre .
