Scream
Back at QFT for its 30th anniversary, Scream is legendary director Wes Craven's funny, clever and scary meta-horror classic. The killer then begins terrorising Casey's classmate, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), whose mother was murdered a year earlier. As the body count begins to rise, Sidney and her friends find themselves contemplating the "rules" of horror films in order to survive. BECOME A MEMBER One of Brian Friel’s most enduring plays, Faith Healer returns in a production that brings together three acclaimed Northern Irish actors, Conleth Hill, Lisa Dwyer Hogg and Chris McCurry. Faith Healer weaves an extraordinary tale of a travelling healer who, after making his way through Wales and Scotland, returns to his homeland of Ireland in the hope of regaining his fading powers. Frank Hardy offers miracle cures to the sick and suffering, but as a man who is part showman, part shaman, his gift is astonishing and dangerously unreliable. Frank, his wife Grace, and his manager Teddy, each recounts their shared life on the road. As their memories clash and competing versions of the past emerge, Friel’s spellbinding prose crafts a powerful and haunting exploration of memory, belief and the stories we tell. Hailed by The Guardian (2024) as one of the greatest plays of the twentieth century, this play has captivated audiences internationally since its 1979 Broadway premiere. Experience the compelling revival of Friel’s masterpiece return to Belfast as part of the Lyric Theatre’s 75th anniversary season. "A quietly devastating study of pain recollected and the transfiguring nature of memory. It is one of those rare works of art audiences are destined to recall as a deeply personal experience, and you'll find yourself trying to sort out the different visions of reality… long after the play is over." — The New York Times The Company Lisa Dwyer Hogg Grace Conleth Hill Frank Hardy Chris McCurry Teddy Brian Friel Writer Emma Jordan Director Stuart Marshall Set Designer Paul Keogan Lighting Designer Enda Kenny Costume Designer Garth McConaghie Composer & Sound Designer Close Date & Times Date & Times Date Time Fri 30 Oct 2026 19:30 Limited Availability Sat 31 Oct 2026 14:30 Sold Out Sat 31 Oct 2026 19:30 Choose seats Sun 01 Nov 2026 14:30 Limited Availability Tue 03 Nov 2026 19:30 Choose seats Wed 04 Nov 2026 19:30 Choose seats Thu 05 Nov 2026 14:30 Choose seats Thu 05 Nov 2026 19:30 Choose seats Fri 06 Nov 2026 19:30 Limited Availability Sat 07 Nov 2026 14:30 Sold Out Sat 07 Nov 2026 19:30 Limited Availability Sun 08 Nov 2026 14:30 Audio Described Choose seats Tue 10 Nov 2026 19:30 Choose seats Wed 11 Nov 2026 19:30 Captioned Choose seats Thu 12 Nov 2026 14:30 Choose seats Thu 12 Nov 2026 19:30 Choose seats Fri 13 Nov 2026 19:30 Limited Availability Sat 14 Nov 2026 14:30 Limited Availability Sat 14 Nov 2026 19:30 Limited Availability Reviews “One of the best productions of Faith Healer you’re ever likely to see” “Luminous revival of Brian Friel's Masterpiece” “Beautifully Crafted”
Gary Meikle: Yer Maw
Gary Meikle: Yer Maw returns to the stage with another new show which has quickly become the yearly norm for him now, coming to Ulster Hall on 31 October 2026! Hi guys it’s me, Gary. These blurbs do my head in if I’m honest, each year I need to sit and write one out before I even know what stories I’m gonna share, well I mean I don’t have to write one I could pay something else to do it but f*** that they’d just write some mundane vague crap which I can clearly do myself. At least this way you know I've written it personally. So what's the new show about? Again, I don’t yet, but it will contain at least one ‘yer maw’ Joke, what I do know is that it’ll be another brand new 80-90 minutes of stories, opinions and observations about me and my family as well as you all its always about people and the mad shit we do, sometimes animals but more often than not it's about people and the stupid scenarios we end up in. I wonder if that's now enough wordage to cover the minimum blurb requirement? I guess we'll see, and I’ll see you all soon maybe - oh, one last thing, my show isn’t suitable for small people, some of it might be about them, in fact it definitely will but, yeah they ain’t getting in :)

Ken Russell's The Devils
Censored for more than half a century, Ken Russell’s visionary masterpiece returns to the big screen fully restored in 4K and cut to Russell’s direction - the first publicly released version of the film as intended by the filmmaker. An enduring masterpiece of cinema starring Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave, Ken Russell’s The Devils is a prescient epic of obsession and corruption, and a defining work of art from a seminal filmmaker. Inspired by the true story of 17th-century priest Urbain Grandier, accused of bewitching a convent of nuns, the film lays bare the collusion of church and state through a searing vision of religious persecution, collective hysteria and institutional corruption. Unveiled at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, the definitive version arrives 55 years after the film’s original release. In addition to powerhouse performances from Reed and Redgrave, Ken Russell’s The Devils showcases the stunning work of artists at the peak of their craft. The 8.45pm screening on Fri 30 Oct will include an in-person introduction by Mark Kermode. Warning: The linked trailer contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.

BFF: Master
In forested rural Bangladesh, Jahir is a popular and idealistic teacher making a foray into local politics. When he is elected, he is confronted with hard truths, compromise and the hierarchy of power and positions of influence. With his young family at home beginning to worry, and friends who helped his election campaign starting to feel less essential than the local businessmen, will Jahir succumb to the seduction, and violence, of power? A bold film that skillfully uses colour, real administrative locations and local inhabitants to bring this vibrant and complex world to the screen. With systemic corruption of local politics in Bangladesh at its core, the film’s themes of family, ambition and disillusionment run broadly. Winner of the Big Screen Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, 2026. Screening as part of Belfast Film Festival . Find out more about the festival programme here . Seating for Belfast Film Festival screenings is unallocated. If you have access requirements, please contact us on qftmanager@qub.ac.uk.

20 Cigarettes
In director Will McConnell’s latest lo-fi experiment, the concept of the ‘crime film’ is transformed through a structural gambit. Each scene begins with a cigarette being lit and ends as it is stubbed out. Lasting as long as a humble pack of cigarettes does, we witness a story unfold through its liminal moments. With each drag, we learn about Jim and Vick. Against the backdrop of a vote for Irish unity, they get pulled into a life of crime. They soon learn however that the Bonnie and Clyde lifestyle is a hard one to maintain, and their relationship becomes as threatened as the national identity is. 20 Cigarettes is a refreshing take on the genre film in Northern Ireland, addressing and confronting the issues surrounding ‘our wee country’ rather than existing in a vacuum. The central relationship, as brought to life by Charlie Creighton and Anita Jurkovic, is nuanced and deeply felt. This is a bold and exciting film for the current moment.

The Addams Family is a comical feast that embraces the wackiness found in every family. Featuring an original story, the musical centres on a dilemma that is every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, intelligent young man from a respectable family—a young man whom her parents have never met. If that were not unsettling enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to reveal her secret to her mother. Gomez Addams must now attempt something he has never done before: keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything changes on one fateful evening when the Addams family hosts a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his equally respectable parents. As the two very different families come together, secrets are revealed, relationships are tested, and chaos inevitably unfolds. Packed with memorable characters, comedy, music and plenty of macabre charm, The Addams Family is an entertaining theatrical experience suitable for audiences of all ages. Join JSI for a spooktacular Halloween production celebrating love, family and the wonderfully strange qualities that make every family unique.

The Lough Speaks
If we could hear Lough Neagh speak, what would she say? The widely publicised pollution of the lough has been described as a slow death. The build-up of agricultural poison has formed toxic algal blooms that choke the wild inhabitants of the lough and drive the local community from its shores. But Lough Neagh has been part of our world for 400 million years, and borders five of the six counties. People have been benefitting from its resources since the dawn of civilisation, and stories of the lough are woven into the mythological fabric of Ulster and beyond. This live event juxtaposes Northern Ireland’s rich television archive of BBC Northern Ireland and Ulster Television with traditional Irish singing and local journalism to explore the heritage, history and cultural significance of Lough Neagh. With traditional singer Méabh Meir as the voice of Lough Neagh, and spoken word from Tommy Greene , reading from his book, Troubled Waters: How Lough Neagh Is Being Destroyed by Corporate Greed and Political Neglect. Curated by Belfast Film Festival programmer, Rose Baker , and edited by Docs Ireland programmer, Stuart Sloan .

The Dreamed Adventure
An archaeologist gets ever more intertwined in the dealings of local gangsters in this understated work from Valeska Grisebach (Western). As the story unfolds near an archaeological dig on the border between Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey, the transience of such a frontier space becomes apparent in the comings and goings of characters, the significance of memory and past relationships, and the timelessness of found objects. Most of all, it is Yana Radeva’s performance as the impressive and unshakeable Veska, a middle-aged woman holding her ground in this dusty, arid, and at times intraversable landscape of macho power-play, that explains the film’s deserved success in the European festival circuit this year, including the Jury Prize at Cannes.
