Wicker
Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson’s wonderfully eccentric fable is, at its core, a gentle love story starring Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård and Peter Dinklage. On the outskirts of a village by the sea, lives a Fisherwoman; smelly, single and perpetually ridiculed. One day, fed up with her stuffy, small-minded neighbours, she commissions herself a husband to be made from wicker. In an otherwise conservative town, this unconventional romance sparks outrage, jealousy and chaos.

BECOME A MEMBER One of Brian Friel’s most enduring plays, Faith Healer returns in a production that brings together three acclaimed Northern Irish actors, Conleth Hill, Lisa Dwyer Hogg and Chris McCurry. Faith Healer weaves an extraordinary tale of a travelling healer who, after making his way through Wales and Scotland, returns to his homeland of Ireland in the hope of regaining his fading powers. Frank Hardy offers miracle cures to the sick and suffering, but as a man who is part showman, part shaman, his gift is astonishing and dangerously unreliable. Frank, his wife Grace, and his manager Teddy, each recounts their shared life on the road. As their memories clash and competing versions of the past emerge, Friel’s spellbinding prose crafts a powerful and haunting exploration of memory, belief and the stories we tell. Hailed by The Guardian (2024) as one of the greatest plays of the twentieth century, this play has captivated audiences internationally since its 1979 Broadway premiere. Experience the compelling revival of Friel’s masterpiece return to Belfast as part of the Lyric Theatre’s 75th anniversary season. "A quietly devastating study of pain recollected and the transfiguring nature of memory. It is one of those rare works of art audiences are destined to recall as a deeply personal experience, and you'll find yourself trying to sort out the different visions of reality… long after the play is over." — The New York Times The Company Lisa Dwyer Hogg Grace Conleth Hill Frank Hardy Chris McCurry Teddy Brian Friel Writer Emma Jordan Director Stuart Marshall Set Designer Paul Keogan Lighting Designer Enda Kenny Costume Designer Garth McConaghie Composer & Sound Designer Close Date & Times Date & Times Date Time Fri 30 Oct 2026 19:30 Limited Availability Sat 31 Oct 2026 14:30 Sold Out Sat 31 Oct 2026 19:30 Choose seats Sun 01 Nov 2026 14:30 Limited Availability Tue 03 Nov 2026 19:30 Choose seats Wed 04 Nov 2026 19:30 Choose seats Thu 05 Nov 2026 14:30 Choose seats Thu 05 Nov 2026 19:30 Choose seats Fri 06 Nov 2026 19:30 Limited Availability Sat 07 Nov 2026 14:30 Sold Out Sat 07 Nov 2026 19:30 Limited Availability Sun 08 Nov 2026 14:30 Audio Described Choose seats Tue 10 Nov 2026 19:30 Choose seats Wed 11 Nov 2026 19:30 Captioned Choose seats Thu 12 Nov 2026 14:30 Choose seats Thu 12 Nov 2026 19:30 Choose seats Fri 13 Nov 2026 19:30 Limited Availability Sat 14 Nov 2026 14:30 Limited Availability Sat 14 Nov 2026 19:30 Limited Availability Reviews “One of the best productions of Faith Healer you’re ever likely to see” “Luminous revival of Brian Friel's Masterpiece” “Beautifully Crafted”

NAZA
Shot at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, NAZA reveals the systems behind Israel’s bombing of Gaza and its mass killing of Palestinian civilians. The film is directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, two of the four co-directors of the 2024 Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land. NAZA is titled for a military acronym euphemistically used by Israeli intelligence to indicate the number of civilians that it expects will be killed in an airstrike. The film builds on revelations first published by the Israeli-Palestinian publication +972 Magazine, Hebrew-language outlet Local Call, and the Guardian between 2023 and 2025. "The film lets us explore something deeper than we could in our investigative journalism alone: not only the words being said but also those that are not said, the silence. It is up to all of us to break that silence." Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor
Ken Russell's The Devils
Censored for more than half a century, Ken Russell’s visionary masterpiece returns to the big screen fully restored in 4K and cut to Russell’s direction - the first publicly released version of the film as intended by the filmmaker. An enduring masterpiece of cinema starring Oliver Reed and Vanessa Redgrave, Ken Russell’s The Devils is a prescient epic of obsession and corruption, and a defining work of art from a seminal filmmaker. Inspired by the true story of 17th-century priest Urbain Grandier, accused of bewitching a convent of nuns, the film lays bare the collusion of church and state through a searing vision of religious persecution, collective hysteria and institutional corruption. Unveiled at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, the definitive version arrives 55 years after the film’s original release. In addition to powerhouse performances from Reed and Redgrave, Ken Russell’s The Devils showcases the stunning work of artists at the peak of their craft. The 8.45pm screening on Fri 30 Oct will include an in-person introduction by Mark Kermode. Warning: The linked trailer contains flashing images which may affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.

LATE NIGHT ART: HERMOSTASIS pop-up screening
Late Night Art : Thursday 5th November 2026 Gallery : Lower Gallery Artists: Jayne Cherry and Alison Lowry HERMOSTASIS Jayne Cherry and Alison Lowry present Hermostasis, a work-in-progress film exploring menopause, ageing and the cultural invisibility of older women, for Late Night Art November at GTG. Drawing on the myth of the Cailleach , the female figure in Irish and Gaelic folklore associated with landscape, weather and winter, the artists reconsider society’s perception of the older woman. Rather than framing menopause through loss or victimhood, Hermostasis explores the overlooked intelligence, resilience and knowledge embodied in women’s experiences. The artists combine the materiality of glass with the ephemerality of performance art in this film, which centres on 450 glass sticks, representing the average number of menstrual cycles a woman experiences. These glass sticks are laid to rest with dignity and celebration, as they mark the end of this chapter of life. Cherry and Lowry are frequent collaborators, and say that this work is about “the fierce unacknowledged intelligence of bodies that absorb what culture refuses to hold and the radical act of finally making that visible.” This screening at Golden Thread Gallery offers a unique opportunity to encounter an evolving project, with research ongoing and further work in development. The project is supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland . Late Night Art takes place on the first Thursday of every month, when many of Belfast’s galleries and studios stay up late so that audiences can enjoy after-hours access to some of the finest visual art that the city has to offer. You can expect to see media from across the visual arts, including painting, sculpture, photography, illustration, craft, video, and performance. A great post-work social activity to enjoy by yourself or with friends and family, embrace the atmosphere and immerse yourself in our city’s art scene. No two Late Night Art experiences are ever the same! About the artists: Jayne Cherry works with many materials depending on her thought processes and subject matter at the time of research. Making work about what she experiences and how this can be portrayed to the audience in live art performance and sculptural work can take many forms. She grew up watching women save people with their hands. Her Grandmothers, Her Aunts, Older sisters and cousins and her mother surrounded by children who needed clothing, warmth, and covering, they stitched and cut and pressed without ceremony, as if it were only a matter of turning up at the fabric. She understood even then that making was a kind of survival. That the hands could carry – what the voice could not. Alison Lowry , a glass artist based in Saintfield, Northern Ireland, operates from her studio, ‘Schoolhouse Glass.’ Alison has amassed numerous accolades throughout her career, and most recently, was awarded second place at the Coburg International Glass Prize in 2022. Her work enjoys national and international acclaim, with pieces held in various public collections. Her groundbreaking work, (A)Dressing our hidden truths, shown at the National Museum of Ireland, (2019- present), was one of the first acknowledgments of the Magdalene Laundries presented in an Irish Institution. The Museum subsequently purchased the exhibition for their permanent collection. Accessibility The Lower Gallery is accessed via the ground floor, which is step-free. Large print versions of exhibition texts are available. Please let us know if you have any questions or additional requirements, we are working hard to make the gallery as accessible as possible for everyone. Golden Thread Gallery is supported by:

Alter Your Native Land: Punk In The North 1976-2026 Exhibition Launch
Punk rock has been a dynamic feature in the North of Ireland since 1976. It has inspired so much great noise, fever and self-awareness. This new photo exhibition by Stuart Bailie presents the alternative faces who have made it such a vital, cultural force. The camera has searched out early pioneers like RUDI, The Undertones, Stiff Little Fingers and The Outcasts. It remembers how the attitude had been passed down to flame-keepers like Therapy? and Ash. And it celebrates the new contenders like Chalk, Problem Patterns, Tramp, Mucker and Éabha. The images have been shot on film and hand-printed in Stuart’s darkroom. It’s a rebellious family album. The best we ever had. Stuart Bailie is a music journalist, author and a co-founder of Oh Yeah. This is his fourth solo photo exhibition. Faraway Home
Karl and Rosa are two young Jewish children who escape Nazi-occupied Vienna via kindertransport. They are brought to Northern Ireland to the Millisle refugee farm, where they find it hard to adjust to homesickness and the isolation of country living. Slowly but surely, they get used to the rhythms of rural life, finding friends and a sense of family among the other refugees. But the war isn’t over, and it isn’t long before the Belfast Blitz in 1941 brings the horrors of war back to face them. This moving drama, adapted from the novel by Marilyn Taylor, is based on a true story.

Star Nhà Ease Presents the Inseminator
In this magical-realist portrait of patriarchy, a father living in rural Vietnam grows increasingly afraid for his 16-year-old son, Ngo, who has an intellectual disability. As he faces his own mortality and the limits of what he can control, he becomes fixated on the idea that Ngo will never find a suitable wife, and that without a male heir, their family line will end. His worry turns into obsession, pushing him toward unusual and otherworldly methods to secure a bride for his son. Blending everyday rural life with surreal, imaginative visuals, the film explores care, tradition, and fear. It was banned soon after its release in Vietnam. This screening is subtitled. The screening will be introduced by Tuyết Vân Huỳnh from Star Nhà Ease, a nationwide film and contemporary arts programme bringing Vietnamese cinematic gems, music, poetry and beyond to UK audiences.

corto.alto
The Mercury Prize-nominated Scottish jazz artist makes his Belfast debut with a blistering live show, bringing music from his highly anticipated new album SOME SMALL FORTUNE, released this September. Fresh from winning the AIM Breakthrough Artist Award, corto.alto is the project of Glasgow-based multi-instrumentalist producer, composer and performer Liam Shortall. His acclaimed debut album Bad With Names was nominated for the 2024 Mercury Prize, blending adventurous jazz, electronic music and club culture into a sound that has helped introduce the genre to a new generation of listeners. Translating as “short.tall” in Spanish, corto.alto is a nod to Shortall’s Irish-Spanish heritage and a playful reference to his own name. A prolific collaborator, he has worked with artists including Soweto Kinch, Nubiyan Twist and anaiis, while performances at Montreux Jazz Festival and Glastonbury have cemented his reputation as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz. For this tour, Shortall presents a fresh new set, with music from his new album released in September 2026 on the global label Ninja Tunes, delivering a dynamic live experience that moves between jazz, electronic experimentation and club-inspired energy.

NERINA PALLOT FIRE ESCAPE SYMPHONIES TOUR
Following her acclaimed Royal Albert Hall performance celebrating 25 years of music, Brit and Ivor Novello nominated singer-songwriter Nerina Pallot has announced a new run of intimate dates across the UK and Ireland this autumn. Tickets available from Ticketmaster online (fees apply) or in person from the venue (no fees). The Fire Escape Symphonies Tour will see Pallot return to the grassroots venues that have always been at the heart of her career. Performing completely solo, armed only with her songs, stories, piano and guitar, the tour offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience her music in its most direct and personal form. Spanning England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland, the tour follows one of the biggest moments of Pallot’s career and deliberately trades grand stages for close connection. For fans who discovered her through Fires, A Psalm for Emily Salvi, or anywhere in between, Fire Escape Symphonies promises an evening of honesty, humour and songs that have soundtracked lives for over two decades. “After the Royal Albert Hall, I felt a profound gratitude for every fan won over the years, many of whom had travelled far and wide to see me live. By way of thank you, it feels only right that I return to venues closer to home for them. Moreover, the magic of music often happens in smaller rooms, where every lyric lands and every audience becomes part of the story. Fire Escape Symphonies is about stripping everything back and reconnecting with the songs and the people who have carried them with me for all these years.” — Nerina Pallot
Pride and Prejudice and 80’s Hits!
Pride and Prejudice and 80's Hits! returns to the Waterfront Hall after sold-out world premiere from 05 - 07 November 2026! After three sold-out performances, standing ovations every night and rave reactions from audiences, Pride and Prejudice and 80's Hits! is returning to the Waterfront Hall this November. Kaleidoscope has announced that its hit new musical will be back for a limited three-performance run, giving audiences another opportunity to experience the production that had Belfast laughing, cheering, dancing in the aisles and singing along. The world premiere in May exceeded all expectations, selling out every performance and earning enthusiastic praise from both audiences and critics. Now, due to overwhelming public demand, the company is bringing the production back to the city's premier entertainment venue. A fresh and joyful reimagining of Jane Austen's beloved classic, Pride and Prejudice and 80's Hits! combines the wit and romance of one of literature's greatest love stories with the unforgettable soundtrack of the 1980s. Packed with iconic pop anthems, colourful characters and plenty of laughs, the show has quickly established itself as one of Northern Ireland's newest musical theatre success stories. Writer and director Kerry Rooney MBE said: We were overwhelmed by the respon se to the premiere. Every performance had an incredible atmosphere, with audiences on their feet singing and dancing along by the finale. "The reaction has been beyond anything we could have hoped for, so we're absolutely delighted to be bringing the show back to the Waterfront Hall." Kerry continued: "The wonderful thing about this production is that it appeals to so many people. Whether you're a lifelong Jane Austen fan, you grew up with the music of the 1980s, or you simply enjoy a great night at the theatre, there's something for everyone. We're looking forward to welcoming back those who saw the show in May, while introducing it to audiences who have been hearing what all the buzz is about." Featuring a talented local cast, dazzling costumes, energetic choreography and a soundtrack filled with some of the biggest hits of the decade, Pride and Prejudice and 80's Hits! transforms Austen's timeless tale into an unforgettable feel-good musical. Thursday Performance in Aid of NI Children’s Hospice We’re delighted to announce that all proceeds from the Thursday night performance of Pride and Prejudice and 80’s Hits! will go to NI Children’s Hospice , supporting the vital work they do for children and families across Northern Ireland. Star of the Sea
In 1969, Star of the Sea from North Belfast were the best youth football team in Ireland. The team is made up of Protestant and Catholic players from the mixed local community of Rathcoole.By 1972, the team had been torn apart by The Troubles. Loyalist paramilitaries have taken over Rathcoole and Catholic families are forced out. Among them, the family of Star of the Sea’s full back, Bobby Sands and his best friend Tommy O’Neill, Star’s striker. Bobby joins the IRA, while two of his teammates, Michael and Terry join the loyalist UVF. The team’s star centre back, Raymond McCord is scouted and has a spell at Manchester United but returns to his home club and a very different Belfast. He is the last Protestant player to leave the Star of the Sea club as Northern Ireland descends further into bloody chaos. Despite all of the horror, the surviving players maintain that the ethos of Star of the Sea rings true today and is the way forward for the next generation. This is the story of the talented players of Star of the Sea – who once represented everything that was great about Northern Ireland.
